Scattered showers and strong winds brought cooler weather to Delhi on Thursday, with the maximum temperature falling to 26.8°C. This is the first time the capital's temperature has dipped below 30°C in almost a month and is 4.7 degrees below normal. The temperature saw a notable drop from Wednesday's 33.6°C.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Friday, predicting continued rain and a further decrease in temperature, potentially reaching 23-25°C. The forecast indicates generally cloudy skies with spells of light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds.
Following Friday's cooler conditions, temperatures are expected to gradually increase, reaching between 32°C and 34°C by March 25. Several weather stations recorded light rainfall on Thursday, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 17.6°C. The city's Air Quality Index (AQI) remained in the 'moderate' category at 137.
