Delhi Drenched: Relief From Heat As Rain Lashes Capital
15 Mar
Summary
- Light to moderate rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds hit Delhi early Sunday.
- Temperatures dropped significantly after Saturday's high, bringing relief to residents.
- Cloudy skies are expected to persist, with a possibility of more light rain.

Several parts of Delhi received light to moderate rainfall, along with lightning and gusty winds, early on Sunday. The precipitation was caused by a western disturbance impacting north-west India, bringing moisture and cloud cover to the region. Areas including central, south, and east Delhi witnessed these showers.
The rainfall brought relief to residents as temperatures dropped noticeably. On Saturday, maximum temperatures had crossed 30 degrees Celsius in many areas, with Ridge recording the highest at 33.8°C. Following Sunday's showers, weather stations reported a significant fall in temperatures.
Meteorologists predict that cloudy skies will persist over the next few days, with a chance of light rain or thundershowers. However, temperatures are expected to rise again early next week as the weather system's impact weakens, potentially reaching around 31°C to 33°C on Monday.
