Delhi-NCR Braces for Thunderstorms: Yellow Alert Issued

Delhi-NCR can expect a pleasant shift in weather as light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast. The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Delhi, with similar conditions anticipated in Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad throughout the week. This monsoon activity is expected to provide much-needed relief from the current high temperatures and humidity.

Temperatures in Delhi are projected to stay between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius. While heavy rainfall was predicted for Monday, most areas only received light drizzles. However, the forecast indicates persistent thunderstorms and rain across Delhi until at least July 9, with temperatures remaining below the extreme heat experienced earlier. Monsoon activity is expected to continue in Noida and Gurugram, with daily chances of thunderstorms and rain, particularly in the afternoons and evenings.

Gurugram and Ghaziabad will also experience active monsoon conditions, with daily chances of rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds throughout the week. This widespread rainfall activity across North India is sustained by an active southwest monsoon, offering a cooling respite across the region.
