This temperature was 5.1 degrees above normal, fulfilling the criteria for a heatwave, which occurs when maximum temperatures reach 40 degrees Celsius or above and are 4.5 to 6.4 degrees above normal. This marks the third consecutive day of heatwave conditions in Delhi.
While a yellow alert for heatwave conditions remains in effect for Sunday, the forecast offers hope. From Monday to Wednesday, very light rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds are anticipated, potentially reducing maximum temperatures to between 38-40 degrees Celsius by the end of next week.
