Delhi Heatwave: 'Feels Like' Temp Hits 46.7°C!

On Wednesday, Delhi endured a 'feels like' temperature of 46.7°C, significantly higher than the actual maximum of 42.4°C, due to continuous dry winds. This heat followed a night of squalls and intermittent rain that, while offering little respite from the heat, caused considerable damage across the city. Reports indicate that trees and large branches were uprooted, leading to dangerous situations on roads and prompting resident concerns.

The severe weather conditions, including wind speeds reaching up to 128 kmph at the Pusa weather station on Tuesday evening, have raised safety concerns. Residents shared visuals of fallen trees and broken boundary walls on social media. Meteorologists predict that an approaching western disturbance may bring relief, with the India Meteorological Department issuing alerts for rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds starting Thursday.
