Summary
- Thirteen incoming flights circled Delhi airport due to severe weather.
- Rain brought relief from warm and humid conditions to the city.

On Thursday, severe weather conditions significantly disrupted flight operations at Delhi airport. Thirteen incoming flights were compelled to perform go-arounds before attempting to land. Due to the adverse weather, eleven of these flights were diverted to nearby airports.
Two of the diverted flights eventually landed safely in the national capital. This disruption occurred as Delhi experienced a sudden shift in weather, with rainfall providing a welcome respite from the preceding warm and humid conditions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Friday. This alert forecasts light rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph, with gusts up to 60 kmph.
Similar weather patterns are anticipated for Saturday, though no specific alert has been issued for that day. Over the next few days, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius, with the minimum temperature hovering between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius.
In related news, Delhi's air quality is predicted to remain in the 'moderate' category in the coming days, according to the Air Quality Early Warning System (AQEWS).
