Comedian's Flight Aborts Landing as Storm Amy Batters Britain

On October 4th, 2025, the first named storm of the season, Storm Amy, has unleashed chaos across Britain. The powerful winds, reaching up to 100mph, have left thousands of homes without power and caused significant damage to buildings and infrastructure.

Among those affected by the storm was comedian Jason Manford, who was flying from London City Airport to Belfast for a scheduled gig. As Manford's flight approached the Belfast airport, the blustery winds made it impossible for the pilot to land safely. The plane was forced to abort the landing and divert back to Manchester, leaving Manford and other passengers stranded.

Manford, who has over 447,000 followers on social media, shared the terrifying experience with his fans, describing the plane rocking from side to side as it struggled to land. The comedian also revealed that four passengers had decided to disembark the plane before takeoff, citing concerns about the weather conditions.

Unfortunately, due to the extreme weather, Manford's Belfast gig had to be canceled. Fans were informed that the show would be rescheduled, and the comedian apologized for the inconvenience.

The Met Office has issued a number of amber weather warnings across the UK, advising commuters of road closures, flooding, and canceled trains. In Ireland, around 100,000 properties and in Scotland, some 62,000 homeowners are still without power after the storm knocked out supplies.

The powerful winds have also caused significant damage to buildings and cars, with a derelict building collapsing in Glasgow and the roof of a block of flats being ripped off in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire.
