Coastal Flooding Hits Maryland as Storms Batter the Region
30 Oct
Summary
- Widespread rainfall of 1-2 inches in Baltimore metro
- Coastal Flood Warning in effect for Anne Arundel County
- Sunny and breezy conditions expected for Halloween

As of October 30th, 2025, Marylanders have been dealing with the aftermath of a stormy weather pattern that has impacted the region over the past couple of days. Late Wednesday night through Thursday morning, much of central and eastern Maryland saw soaking rains, with widespread rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches observed in and around the Baltimore metro area.
The severe weather threat has now ended for most of Maryland, though a low-end risk remained in northeastern parts of the state through late morning on Thursday. Spotty power outages and the potential for unhealthy trees to come down due to strong winds were still possible in that region.
Coastal flooding has also been a concern, with a Coastal Flood Warning in effect for Anne Arundel County through Friday morning. Moderate flooding is forecast, with water levels rising 1 to 3 feet above dry ground. Annapolis, in particular, has seen flooding from the high tide.

However, the weather is expected to improve in time for Halloween on Friday. Afternoon temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 50s to lower 60s, with a gusty breeze and sunny conditions. By sunset, the wind gusts are expected to calm, and temperatures will cool to the 50s and 40s.
The weekend is also expected to bring dry weather conditions, providing a welcome respite after the stormy start to the week.
