Coastal Flood Advisory Issued for New Jersey Counties

On the morning of October 30, 2025, the National Weather Service issued a coastal flood advisory for several counties in New Jersey. The advisory, which is valid between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. today, warns of potential flooding in Hudson, Essex, and Union counties.
According to the weather service, vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline can expect 1-2 feet of inundation above ground level. This is expected to result in minor flooding of the more vulnerable locations, including some roads and low-lying properties such as parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront.
The weather service advises that if travel is required during the advisory period, extra time should be allotted as some roads may be closed. Drivers are cautioned not to drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth, and to take necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
