China's National Meteorological Center issued a blue alert on Friday, forecasting rainstorms across parts of Southwest, East, and South China from Friday to Saturday. Some areas in Guizhou and Jiangxi may experience torrential rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, gales, and short-term heavy downpours.
In response, the China Meteorological Administration activated a Level-IV emergency response for major meteorological disasters on Friday morning. Southern China is anticipated to enter a period of concentrated rainfall from Friday night.
Over the upcoming week, regions south of the Yangtze River, South China, and eastern parts of Southwest China can expect frequent rainfall. The public is cautioned about potential secondary disasters, including mountain torrents, landslides, mudslides, and floods in smaller rivers.
Additionally, northern regions, including North China and Northeast China, are forecast to experience showers or thunderstorms between Friday and Sunday. Rainfall distribution will be uneven, with most areas receiving light to moderate rain, though some localities might encounter heavy rain or rainstorms with adverse weather conditions.
