China Braces for Downpour: Orange Rain Alert Issued

As of Tuesday morning, China's National Meteorological Center issued a series of alerts, including an orange alert for heavy rain and blue alerts for severe convective weather and Typhoon Dolphin. Significant rainfall is anticipated in Shandong, Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Hubei provinces, with potential accumulations of up to 350 millimeters in some areas.
Typhoon Dolphin, now centered in Hubei province, is moving west-northwest and gradually weakening. However, its interaction with atmospheric troughs is expected to sustain heavy rainfall across a wide region, elevating the risks of flooding, waterlogging, and geological disasters.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and the China Meteorological Administration jointly issued an orange alert for geological disaster risks. High-risk zones include parts of southwestern Beijing, central Hebei, most of Zhejiang, parts of Anhui, and central Henan. Local governments are strengthening disaster prevention efforts and urging timely evacuations from hazardous areas near slopes and waterways.
