As of Monday, August 3, 2026, a flash flood warning was active for Middlesex County, with a flash flood watch in place for Somerset County until late Monday night. Heavy storms early Monday already dropped significant rain, causing localized flooding and road closures, including on Route 206 and Jersey Avenue. The Raritan River at Bound Brook and the Millstone River at Weston are currently below minor flood stages.
Looking ahead, Tuesday is expected to be dry before a 60% chance of rain returns Wednesday. The unsettled weather pattern is projected to persist through the weekend, with chances of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Power outages resulting from Monday's storms have been limited, with only a few hundred customers reporting outages across several counties.
