According to the latest weather forecasts, Brits are in for a wintry blast this week, with up to four days of snowy conditions expected. The cold snap is set to begin on Thursday, with snowfall predicted across several regions, including Wales, northern England, and parts of Scotland.
The snowfall is expected to continue on Friday, with most of Scotland likely to be blanketed by the end of the day. The probability of snowfall is set to increase further over the weekend, with heavier precipitation covering the entirety of Scotland, as well as northern England, parts of the eastern coast, and Wales.
By Sunday, even more regions, including Northern Ireland and the Midlands, could experience snowfall, according to the weather maps. The entirety of Wales, northern England, and Scotland are likely to see snowfall starting from 6 am on October 26.
The cold snap is expected to continue into the following week, with freezing temperatures as low as -2°C predicted in the North Pennines. Other areas, such as North Yorkshire, Durham, and Northumberland, are also set to experience sub-zero temperatures. Parts of Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent, and Wales near Brecon could also see the mercury drop to 0°C.
The Met Office has warned that the unsettled conditions are likely to continue until November, with a mix of rain, strong winds, and colder temperatures expected across the UK.
