Baltimore Braces for Heavy Snowfall: Up to 12 Inches Expected

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Baltimore area, with heavy snowfall expected to begin Sunday evening and continue into Monday. Meteorologists anticipate four to eight inches of snow for central Maryland, but accumulations could exceed 12 inches in parts of northeast Maryland.

Forecasters predict the storm will bring high winds, with gusts up to 35 mph, and hazardous road conditions. The National Weather Service advises the public to prepare for the incoming precipitation, noting that predictions have been trending upward. A low-pressure system off the Carolinas is expected to intensify as it moves up the coast, bringing a mix of rain and snow before transitioning to moderate snow.

This potential snowstorm follows a significant snowfall last month that dropped over 11 inches, disrupting travel and school schedules. Residents are urged to prepare now to avoid difficulties.
