The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a severe heatwave warning for Wednesday, impacting several districts across the state. High temperatures are anticipated in the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, with projections indicating maximums could soar up to 44°C in specific areas.
Severe heatwave conditions are predicted for 46 mandals, while an additional 73 mandals are expected to experience heatwave conditions. These are particularly concentrated in the northern coastal districts. On Tuesday, temperatures already reached significant highs, with Ontimitta recording 45°C.
Authorities are urging residents to take protective measures. These include wearing light-colored clothing, sunglasses, and hats, minimizing direct sun exposure, and ensuring adequate hydration with water, lemonades, buttermilk, and coconut water to combat the intense heat.
