Shropshire A483 Faces Nightly Closures for Road Work
23 Feb
Summary
- Overnight closures on A483 between Llynclys and Llanymynech begin Monday.
- Work includes laying high-friction surface and repainting road markings.
- Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.

The A483, a key route connecting England and Wales, will experience overnight closures over the next four weeks. The affected section runs between Llynclys and Llanymynech, situated on the Shropshire-Wales border. These closures will take place daily between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM, starting from Monday and continuing until March 20th.
National Highways has scheduled this essential maintenance to upgrade the road surface with a high-friction material, enhance visibility by repainting road markings, and conduct drainage surveys. Officials state the new road surface is crucial for improving stopping distances in potential hazard situations.
Access for emergency services, as well as for The White Lion and The Garden Lodge establishments, will be ensured at all times during the closure periods. Diversion routes will be in effect, and motorists should anticipate delays. Further surveys are planned for later in the year.
