Towering Tribute: Army's 4 Corps Raises Tallest Tricolour Flagpole in Northeast

In a grand display of national pride, the headquarters of the Indian Army's 4 Corps, also known as the Gajraj Corps, has raised the tallest flagpole for the Tricolour in the northeastern region. On September 11, 2025, the 108-foot-high mast was unfurled at the Tezpur military garrison in Assam's Sonitpur district, marking a significant milestone for the region.
The flag-hoisting ceremony was attended by a host of dignitaries, including the Commander of the Gajraj Corps, Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh, the Vice-Chancellor of Tezpur University, state government officials, members of the Central Armed Police Forces, and over 250 residents, teachers, and schoolchildren. In his address, Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh urged the attendees to embrace discipline, service, and to dream big for a strong and efficient India.
Major General (Retired) Aseem Kohli of the Flag Foundation of India praised the initiative, stating that the foundation aims to use the National Flag as a symbol of unity, strength, national pride, and patriotism across all sections of society. The towering flagpole is expected to inspire a renewed sense of patriotism and unity among the people of the northeastern region.
