A young serving soldier from the Royal Welsh Regiment, Lance Corporal Bryn Jenkins, aged 24, was discovered deceased in the garage of his home. He was on leave from his duties with the Delta (Fire Support) Company, based at Lucknow Barracks, Tidworth, when the incident occurred on December 7.
An inquest into his death revealed that his body was found at an address in Canton, Cardiff. His passing has prompted numerous heartfelt tributes from colleagues and friends, who remember him as an adventurous and humorous soul. The British Army regiment acknowledged his status as a highly capable soldier and a qualified sniper.
Captain Ed Wills-Wood, his former Platoon Commander, spoke of Jenkins's significant positive impact during his time in the army, noting his progression and dedication. The inquest was adjourned by the South Wales Central assistant coroner, with a provisional cause of death cited as pressure on the neck consistent with hanging.
