Veteran's Life of Service Ends Amidst Toxic Exposure Battle

Sean Michael Lee, an 82nd Airborne Division veteran, passed away recently due to cancer stemming from toxic burn pit exposure during his service in the Middle East.

Lee's life was marked by an unwavering commitment to service. After more than 20 years in the military, he continued to help others through humanitarian missions. In 2021, he assisted in the evacuation of thousands of Afghan allies. Shortly after, he traveled to Poland to support relief efforts following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

His dedication extended to coordinating aid for a wounded Fox News reporter near Kyiv. Lee also responded to severe weather events, notably assisting communities in North Carolina impacted by hurricanes in 2024. He remained on-site, living in tents and helping rebuild homes and businesses.

Until his final days, Lee was planning future missions and ways to improve emergency response, embodying a 'send me' ethos. His efforts, through organizations like The Independence Fund and Save Our Allies, focused on preparedness and aiding the veteran community in helping others.
