The Velikiye Luki, a new-generation diesel-electric submarine of the Project 677 Lada class, has been commissioned into the Baltic Fleet at the Admiralty Shipyards in St. Petersburg. The ceremonial raising of the Russian naval flag marked this significant occasion.
Before the flag raising, the submarine's crew successfully concluded a series of tests, confirming its performance specifications. These trials, including contractor and state sea trials, were conducted in the Baltic Sea. The Velikiye Luki represents the third vessel in the Lada series, designed by the Rubin Central Design Bureau.
