Ukraine drone strike cripples Russian submarine

Ukraine has reported a significant naval victory, successfully striking a Russian Kilo-class submarine in the port of Novorossiysk using an underwater drone. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) stated that the vessel sustained critical damage and is now out of operation.

This marks the first time Ukraine has employed its Sea Baby drones for such an attack, which Ukrainian officials are calling a "turning point" in the ongoing naval battle. The targeted submarine was reportedly equipped to launch Kalibr cruise missiles, previously used against Ukrainian territory.

Russian authorities have not yet commented on the incident. The strike occurs amid diplomatic efforts focused on ending the conflict and follows Ukraine's recent escalations in targeting Russian-linked vessels and infrastructure.
