UK Shares Missile Secrets for Ukraine Production

Britain has announced it will declassify classified technology, a pivotal step towards enabling Ukraine to establish a domestic production line for the Franco-British SCALP/Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missile. Paris and Kyiv aim to have this capability operational by the end of 2026.

This advanced weapon, known for its long range and deep-strike capabilities, has been successfully employed by Ukraine against hardened targets within Russia since November 2025. The SCALP/Storm Shadow is powered by a turbojet engine, boasting a maximum range of 550 kilometers and carrying a substantial warhead, with a high degree of accuracy in all weather conditions.

Ukraine's utilization of such long-range assets is strategically designed to challenge Russia's extensive landmass. By targeting key infrastructure and military installations deep within Russian territory, Kyiv seeks to transform Russia's geographical advantage into a significant logistical and defensive burden.
