29 Jun
Summary
- An ambulance and 4x4 vehicle were sent to Ukraine.
- Volunteers raised £20,000 for essential medical supplies.
- The vehicles traveled 1,800 miles to Cherkasy, Ukraine.

Essential medical supplies are now reaching Ukraine thanks to a remarkable fundraising effort. Volunteers from the Malmesbury Stands with Ukraine group in Wiltshire raised £20,000. This sum funded an ambulance and a 4x4 medical support car destined for Cherkasy in central Ukraine.
The two vehicles commenced their significant 1,800-mile journey from Malmesbury. The ambulance is fully equipped with 32 boxes containing vital medical provisions, including defibrillators, tourniquets, medical training dummies, and baby formula. This aid is crucial for the residents of Cherkasy, who have endured years of nightly air raids.
The journey, expected to take four days, is undertaken by five dedicated volunteers. Upon arrival, the team will be welcomed by Cherkasy's mayor and a hospital director. This mission underscores the strong bond between Malmesbury and Cherkasy, formalized by a Friendship Agreement in 2024.
