Ukraine's recent long-range strikes have specifically targeted Russia's vital oil and gas industry, which Kyiv states funds the ongoing conflict. These attacks have reportedly caused fuel rationing across Russia. Ukraine also claimed to have hit a major oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, causing a significant blaze and damaging an oil pipeline.
Concurrently, Russia conducted a "massive" nighttime attack on Ukraine's port city of Odesa, injuring at least nine people. A previous drone strike on a residential building in Odesa killed two and injured 26. Russian drones also impacted western Ukraine, with one striking near a border crossing with Poland.
