21 Mar
Summary
- A Kallambalam man working in Israel is feared dead amidst conflict.
- Family received unverified death report via phone call.
- Indian authorities in Israel yet to confirm the report officially.

Family members of Suresh Sundaresan, a 42-year-old resident of Kallambalam employed in Israel, are seeking urgent clarification following unverified reports of his demise amidst the ongoing conflict. Sundaresan, who had been working in Israel for a year, last communicated with his family on March 16, detailing missile attacks in his vicinity.
The family's anxiety escalated when a purported member of a Malayali association in Israel contacted them by phone, reporting Suresh's death in Tel Aviv and that his body had been moved to Al Khabir Hospital. However, this information remains unconfirmed by Indian authorities in Israel.
Concerns are compounded by perceived timeline inconsistencies and a lack of precise details regarding Suresh's employer and exact location. His cousin, Biju T S, expressed the family's confusion and distress, stating they have no authentic information. They have lodged a complaint with Kallambalam police, who have initiated verification procedures through the Non-Resident Keralites Affairs department and the Ministry of External Affairs.
Attingal MP Adoor Prakash has also intervened, assuring necessary steps to ascertain the facts and facilitate the return of the body if the death is confirmed. The process of confirmation is reportedly dependent on communication from Indian diplomatic missions and local Israeli authorities, which may be protracted due to the prevailing conflict.
