Under heavy enemy fire, Batra pressed forward towards the bunker, engaging in close combat and hurling grenades. Wounded during the engagement, he refused to retreat. His immense bravery galvanized his men, who stormed the position and successfully captured Point 5140 in the early hours of June 20, 1999.
