Indian Firm Hit by Drone Fire in UAE
3 Mar
Summary
- JSW Infrastructure's oil terminal in UAE caught fire due to drone debris.
- The affected facility has capacity for nearly 3 million barrels of oil.
- This incident marks the first direct impact on an Indian company from the conflict.

JSW Infrastructure, an Indian company, has directly experienced the repercussions of the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict. A fire broke out at its oil storage terminal located in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), reportedly caused by debris from an Iranian drone that was intercepted. This incident is the first known direct impact on an Indian firm amid the escalating tensions.
The affected facility, operated by JSW Terminal (Middle East) FZE, boasts a substantial capacity of 465,000 cubic metres, capable of storing approximately 3 million barrels of oil. Fujairah is a critical hub for oil bunkering and a significant transit point for the UAE's oil exports.
The conflict, which began with Israeli strikes on Iran last Saturday, has seen escalating attacks, including on Saudi Arabia's oil refinery and civilian sites. JSW Infrastructure, a major port operator in India, also manages other terminals in Fujairah. The company, which went public in 2023, saw its shares decline amid broader market sell-offs linked to the West Asian unrest.
