25 May
Summary
- ULPGM-V3 missile cleared for mass production after final trials.
- Missile features dual air-to-ground and air-to-air capabilities.
- Production will be fully indigenous, involving Indian industries.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation has officially cleared the ULPGM-V3 missile for mass production. This decision comes after the successful completion of its final deliverable configuration trials, which took place at the Kurnool test range in Andhra Pradesh. These trials conclusively validated the missile's performance in both its air-to-ground and air-to-air operational capacities.
The ULPGM-V3 is a fully indigenous weapon system, developed entirely within India's defense ecosystem. Its production will be managed by Bharat Dynamics Limited and Adani Defence Systems & Technologies Limited, utilizing an entirely domestic supply chain. This initiative significantly bolsters India's capability to produce advanced weaponry independently.
The missile offers versatile combat applications, effectively engaging hardened targets in air-to-ground mode and countering drones and helicopters in air-to-air mode. It features a lightweight design, modular warheads, and an imaging infrared seeker for precision targeting, with operational ranges up to 4 kilometers.
