Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari concluded his four-decade tenure as Vice Chief of the Air Staff on December 31, 25. Commissioned in 1986, he was a decorated fighter and test pilot, holding significant commands like Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the South Western Air Command. His career was marked by operational testing, including the 'Litening' pod during the Kargil Operations, and flight testing the Light Combat Aircraft.
Tiwari's extensive service saw him hold key positions such as Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Projects) and Deputy Chief of the Air Staff. He was honored with multiple prestigious medals, including the Param Vishishth Sewa Medal in 2025. He also served as Air Attache in Paris and played a role in diverse command and staff appointments throughout his career.
