HMS Richmond Returns: A Global Voyage Complete

HMS Richmond has completed an eight-month global deployment, Operation Highmast, returning to a welcome from hundreds of relatives and friends. The Royal Navy's Plymouth-based frigate, comprising 200 personnel, was a vital component of the 2025 premier deployment. Its mission involved extensive travel and exercises across key international waters.

The vessel's extensive itinerary included visits to South Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, and India. Additionally, HMS Richmond participated in major exercises in the Mediterranean, off the coasts of northern Australia, and near Japan. The commanding officer commended the crew for their professionalism, resilience, and teamwork throughout this demanding operation.

As part of the UK Carrier Strike Group, led by HMS Prince of Wales, HMS Richmond provided crucial protection against submarine and surface vessel threats. This mission allowed the ship to represent the Royal Navy on a global stage, showcasing its capabilities and fostering international partnerships during its comprehensive and successful voyage.
