The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Thursday that an airstrike in the Zaita region of southern Lebanon resulted in the death of Alaa' Hourani, identified as a Hezbollah drone operator. The IDF stated the strike was a response to Hezbollah's ongoing violations of ceasefire agreements.
Throughout the conflict, Hourani was reportedly instrumental in re-establishing the terror group's regional infrastructure and in gathering intelligence. This incident occurred less than 24 hours after a similar IDF strike in Jouaiyya, which eliminated another Hezbollah operative involved in rebuilding the group's infrastructure.
Concurrently, Lebanon's army released a statement on Thursday asserting it had achieved operational control south of the Litani River and was nearing the completion of its plan to monopolize arms in the area, aiming to prevent armed actors from using the border as a staging ground.
