Haunting Footage Captures Russian Troops in Eerie 'Mad Max' Convoy
11 Nov
Summary
- Footage shows Russian troops advancing through thick fog in wrecked vehicles
- Russia claims gains near Kupiansk, seizing railway stations and oil depot
- Ukraine scrambles to restore power after Russian attacks on infrastructure

On November 11, 2025, haunting footage surfaced showing Russian troops advancing through thick fog in a convoy of wrecked cars, many missing doors and windows, in a scene reminiscent of the post-apocalyptic 'Mad Max' films. The video, shared by the Kyiv Post, depicts soldiers clinging to battered vehicles and motorbikes as they roll down a debris-strewn road, with a broken drone lying by the roadside.
The clip emerged as Moscow's forces claimed new gains near the Ukrainian city of Kupiansk, where Russian troops say they have seized a string of railway stations and an oil depot on the city's eastern edge. A commander using the call sign Hunter stated that units from the 1486th Motorised Rifle Regiment had pushed deep into Kupiansk and taken control of stops along the railway to Kupiansk Vuzlovyi, around four miles south of the city center.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has been scrambling to turn the lights and heating back on after Russian attacks targeted the country's energy infrastructure. The state's power provider, Centerenergo, warned that its generating capacity had been reduced to 'zero', with power cuts of up to 16 hours a day expected across most regions as repairs were carried out and energy sourcing diverted.
