Ghana has formally requested that the Commonwealth condemn a recent missile attack targeting its soldiers serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil). The strike, which occurred Friday before 18:00 local time, injured four Ghanaian peacekeepers.
Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa addressed Commonwealth counterparts on Sunday, describing the bombing as an assault on the core principles of the UN Charter. Ghana has lodged a formal protest with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, who has stated that those responsible must be held accountable.
