A devastating airstrike in Gaza has left two young siblings, 10-year-old Nada Al Rahman and her 15-year-old brother Abd, as the only survivors from a gathering of 48 family members. The tragedy unfolded during the first week of the Israel-Hamas war when their family had convened in a three-storey building.
Abd narrowly escaped a leg amputation after being trapped for six hours under the rubble. Nada suffered critical injuries, requiring a life-altering skin graft procedure from her thigh to her foot. Their mother and four other siblings were among the many who lost their lives in the attack.
The siblings shared their harrowing experience with volunteers from the UK charity SKT Welfare. They were receiving medical care at a hospital, with Nada's treatment funded by the Jordanian government, highlighting the dire humanitarian situation and the critical need for support.
