Regional governor Andrei Vorobyov shared this information via Telegram, accompanied by a photograph showing extensive damage to the building's upper floors. The image depicted blown-out windows and rising smoke.
Fortunately, local officials confirmed that there were no injuries or fatalities resulting from the drone strike in Chekhov. Meanwhile, air defense systems were active across the wider Moscow region. Governor Vorobyov reported that several dozen drones were intercepted in other areas, including Podolsk, Domodedovo, and Kolomna.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that a significant number of drones, over 390, were detected heading towards the region overnight. He added that 81 of these were successfully downed in close proximity to Moscow. The events transpired between late Monday and early Tuesday.
