Zoom's AI Companion has been released on the web, bringing its advanced AI assistant features to all users, including those on the free plan. Basic tier subscribers can now access limited monthly features such as meeting summaries, in-meeting questions, and AI-powered note-taking. The assistant also offers limited queries through its side panel and new web interface, with an optional paid add-on for expanded capabilities.
The AI Companion's reach has been extended to integrate with external data sources, including Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive, in addition to Zoom's own data. Future updates are planned to incorporate connectors for Gmail and Microsoft Outlook. The assistant is designed to generate daily reflection reports, create follow-up tasks, and draft email messages, enhancing user productivity.
Further enhancing document management, the new update allows users to draft and edit documents based on meeting details directly within the companion interface. These documents can be transitioned to Zoom Docs for collaboration and exported in various formats like PDF and Microsoft Word. Zoom emphasizes its advantage in contextual meeting data, utilizing a mix of proprietary and third-party AI models.
