YouTube Hides Dislike Button?

YouTube may be testing a significant change to its video interface by hiding the dislike button. Reports have emerged from users on X and Reddit showcasing screenshots where the dislike button is either relocated to a three-dots submenu or is entirely missing from the video player.

This potential alteration moves the dislike button further from easy access, which could reduce its usage. YouTube previously adjusted dislike visibility in 2021, hiding public counts to mitigate harassment against creators while still allowing creators to see them. Additionally, the platform removed the dislike button from YouTube Shorts earlier in 2026, directing users to alternative options within a menu.

The exact scope of this current testing phase is not yet known, and the company has not yet provided an official comment.
