The Yamaha Tricity 300 is set to redefine scooter safety as the first production scooter globally to feature an airbag. This groundbreaking technology, developed in partnership with Autoliv, is housed in the front apron and deploys automatically during frontal collisions. Advanced sensors detect sudden impacts, cushioning the rider and reducing forward momentum to minimize injury. While airbag systems exist on some motorcycles, their integration into a scooter marks a significant step in accessibility for everyday riders.
Beyond its safety innovations, the 2026 Yamaha Tricity 300 showcases a modernized design with sharper styling, including new LED lighting and a split-style tail lamp. The braking system has been enhanced with a new Brake Control system and a Unified Braking System for optimized stability. Traction control has also been added for improved grip.
Inside, the scooter features a dual-screen digital interface with a 4.2-inch color TFT display and a 2.8-inch LCD screen. Riders can benefit from built-in Garmin navigation and smartphone connectivity via the MyRide app for alerts. Keyless start, ample storage, and Yamaha's signature leaning multi-wheel system enhance convenience and performance.
Powered by a 292 cc engine producing 28 PS, the Tricity 300 offers a claimed mileage of 30.3 kmpl. It meets the latest emission standards with a new catalytic converter. The scooter is scheduled for release in Europe in 2026, with buyers having the option of airbag-equipped or standard variants. Currently, there are no plans for an Indian launch.
