The Xpeng G9L, initially revealed in China, is now making its debut in Southeast Asia, with Thailand being the next market to receive this six-seater electric SUV on November 11. This launch indicates its imminent arrival in Malaysia as well.
The G9L will be available in pure electric form, featuring either six- or seven-seater configurations. The rear-wheel-drive variant produces 367 PS, while the all-wheel-drive model offers a more potent 585 PS. Both models utilize a 110 kWh NMC battery, providing WLTP ranges of up to 591 km for RWD and 551 km for AWD.
A key technological highlight is the standard 800-volt electrical architecture, supporting DC fast charging up to 540 kW, which can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in a mere 12 minutes. The G9L measures 5,120 mm long, significantly larger than its predecessor, the G9, offering enhanced interior space.
The vehicle's interior is designed to evoke a first-class airline cabin experience, featuring a layered dashboard with an 8.88-inch instrument display and a 17.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Advanced seating options include heating, ventilation, massage functions, and AI-powered posture adjustment. The G9L also incorporates Xpeng's advanced driving assistance systems.
Beyond its performance and comfort features, the G9L is equipped with double-wishbone front and multilink rear suspension, standard dual-chamber air suspension, and adaptive dampers. It also features 15 degrees of rear-wheel steering for improved maneuverability. Xpeng plans to introduce its VLA 2.0 driving assistance model in Malaysia within two years.
