Xiaomi's latest tablet, the Pad 8 Pro, presents a design closely mirroring Apple's 11-inch iPad Pro, featuring slim bezels and a metallic unibody. Launched during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, this Android tablet is equipped with a potent Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a substantial 9,200mAh battery.
Further enhancing its versatility, the Pad 8 Pro offers a suite of accessories, including a stylus and two keyboard options, aiming to transform it into a compact workstation. Its camera system is also noteworthy, with a 50-megapixel rear camera and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
Performance-wise, the tablet boasts 8GB or 12GB of RAM and storage options up to 512GB. It also features quad speakers with Hi-Res audio and Dolby Atmos. The display is a crisp 3.2K, and it supports rapid 67W charging, while battery life is commendable for browsing and reading.
However, Xiaomi's HyperOS software, while resembling iPadOS, still shows room for improvement, particularly in widget customization. AI capabilities are integrated via Google Gemini. Despite not being a laptop replacement, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro stands out as a well-built, powerful Android tablet suitable for media consumption and light productivity.
