For parents seeking to capture their children's soccer games, the XbotGo Falcon presents a compelling AI sports tracking camera solution. This device eliminates the need for expensive subscription services often associated with competitors like Veo and Trace, offering a one-time purchase price of $799.
The Falcon records in crisp 4K resolution and features a 1/1.8-inch Sony CMOS sensor. It supports 360-degree rotation and 160-degree tilt, allowing it to follow the action on the field. Users can control the camera remotely via an app, enabling manual zooming and panning.
While the XbotGo Falcon generally provides reliable tracking for most of the game, it can sometimes struggle with specific plays like goal kicks or penalty kicks. Distractions on the sidelines or in view can also occasionally confuse the camera's AI.
However, XbotGo actively releases firmware updates to improve performance and add features, such as drawing field boundaries. The company also offers a more affordable XbotGo Chameleon model, which uses a smartphone for recording, for around $300.
