X Tackles TikTok With New Video Reply Feature

X has rolled out a new video response feature for its iOS users, allowing them to record video replies to existing posts. This functionality, which echoes TikTok's established video reaction capabilities, presents responses either in a split-screen format or superimposed over the original content.

A company representative indicated that this feature will be available on Android and web clients in the near future. This launch follows other recent additions to the platform, such as custom timelines and a tool to mute specific topics for 24 hours.

However, X has also discontinued features like Communities and significantly restricted the utility for non-paying users. Free accounts are now capped at 50 posts and 200 replies daily, a substantial decrease from the previous limit of 2,400 posts per day.
