Verge Motorcycles: World's First All-Solid-State EV
5 Jan
Summary
- First production vehicle uses all-solid-state battery tech.
- New batteries are lighter, safer, and longer-lasting.
- Verge TS Pro motorcycle now available with solid-state power.

Donut Labs has partnered with Verge Motorcycles to introduce the world's first all-solid-state battery into a production vehicle, the Verge TS Pro electric motorcycle. This new technology offers significant advantages over traditional lithium-ion batteries, including increased energy density for lighter yet longer-range vehicles, and a lifespan exceeding 100,000 charge cycles.
The solid-state batteries are also more thermally stable, reducing the risk of thermal runaway and enabling faster charging speeds. Donut Labs has developed compact, lightweight cells, suitable for various applications, including aerial drones, and integrates them into 5 kilowatt-hour power units for the Verge TS Pro.
This groundbreaking solid-state technology is projected to be more cost-effective to manufacture than lithium-ion alternatives. The Verge TS Pro, now available for order at $29,900, boasts a range of up to 217 miles and can charge in under 35 minutes. Donut Labs is also collaborating with Watt Electric Vehicles on future car platforms, signaling broader adoption of this advanced battery tech.
