Microsoft Listens: Windows 11 Fixes Incoming!

Microsoft has announced significant upcoming changes for Windows Insiders, signaling a renewed focus on user feedback and system quality. A major update will allow users to reposition the taskbar, a highly requested feature that was missing in Windows 11. The company is also reducing the presence of AI features, removing unnecessary Copilot entry points and streamlining AI integration in applications like Notepad, Photos, and Widgets.

Further improvements include enhanced control over Windows Updates, increased reliability for File Explorer, and a less intrusive Widgets experience. However, some persistent user frustrations, such as the mandatory use of Microsoft Edge and Bing for Start menu searches and the requirement of Microsoft accounts for new PCs, remain unaddressed in the current announcement. These changes are slated to roll out to Insider builds starting March and April 2026, with stable versions receiving updates throughout this year.
