WhatsApp Calls: Invite Anyone, No Account Needed!

WhatsApp has introduced a significant enhancement to its calling functionality, allowing users to invite guests to join calls without the need for an account. This new feature extends accessibility, as guests can participate even if they do not have the WhatsApp application installed on their devices, thanks to the recent addition of web call support.

Initiating a call still requires a user account, but guests can join seamlessly by simply accepting a shared call link. They gain access to interactive call features, including hand raising, screen sharing, and emoji reactions, all secured with end-to-end encryption. This simplifies communication for ad-hoc meetings and broader participation.

Looking ahead, Meta plans to integrate WhatsApp calls with Google and Outlook calendars later in 2026. This will enable users to embed WhatsApp call links directly into their calendar invites, streamlining the process of organizing and joining scheduled calls.
