12 Oct
Summary
- Message scheduling now in beta for Android users.
- Messages can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance.
- The feature supports text, links, photos, and videos.

WhatsApp has introduced message scheduling, a feature long desired by its users for tasks like setting reminders and managing off-hours communications. This capability, previously available on Telegram since 2019, has now appeared in a beta version for Android.
The feature allows users to set a delivery date and time by holding the send button. A dedicated section within the app enables management of these scheduled messages prior to their dispatch. The system supports scheduling messages as little as 10 minutes ahead or up to two weeks in advance.
Scheduled messages are end-to-end encrypted and support text, links, photos, and videos. They will be sent at the designated time, irrespective of the device's online status. This functionality is also compatible with group chats and is currently in beta testing for some Android users, with a wider release anticipated shortly.
