WEKA Hits Exabyte Storage Milestone with New Software
27 Jul
Summary
- WEKApod 3 offers 1.1 exabytes effective capacity in a single rack.
- Software data reduction techniques achieve exabyte scale.
- New system addresses data center power and space constraints.

WEKA has introduced its WEKApod 3 storage appliance line, integrated with the new NeuralMesh 6 software, marking a significant step in storage density and capacity. The flagship Prime Max configuration boasts an impressive 1.1 exabytes of effective capacity within a single 56U rack, the first system to reach this threshold.
This exabyte-scale capacity is achieved not just through raw hardware but heavily relies on WEKA's advanced data reduction software. Techniques such as fingerprinting, similarity hashing, deduplication, and compression are applied by default, with write overhead kept below 5%. The NeuralMesh 6 software also features AlloyFlash tiering, intelligently routing data to different storage types based on sensitivity.
The development addresses mounting pressures in the data center industry, including a projected drop in new construction and significant power shortfalls in the United States. WEKA positions its solution as a direct competitor for limited rack space and power, stating that inefficient storage vies with GPUs for these vital resources.
WEKA asserts control over its hardware supply chain for predictable pricing and delivery. NeuralMesh 6 is slated for release in the second half of 2026, with upgrades available at no extra cost for existing customers. WEKApod Nitro, Prime, and Prime Max are available for order now, with deliveries commencing in fall 2026.
