Walmart Lets AI Agents Shop For You!

Walmart is set to roll out a new feature next month, "Agent Profiles," which will allow artificial intelligence agents to shop and complete transactions on behalf of customers. This innovative system enables customers to manage authorizations and spending limits for these AI agents, much like managing additional users on a credit card account.

Customers will have the flexibility to require approval for every purchase or set a spending limit, ensuring they maintain control over their spending. The "Walmart Agent Gateway" has also been launched, enabling AI assistants like ChatGPT and Google Gemini to connect with Walmart and Sam's Club systems for product searches and purchases. The pricing seen by AI agents will be identical to what human shoppers see on Walmart.com, including applicable offers and fees.
