Uncamouflaged images of the production-ready Volkswagen ID Polo EV have been leaked, providing an early glimpse before its official global debut scheduled for May. This compact electric hatchback is based on the 2023 ID.2all concept, signaling Volkswagen's commitment to accessible electric mobility.
The exterior design largely mirrors the concept, featuring slim LED headlights and a sealed front fascia with an illuminated VW emblem. Minor adjustments are visible in the bumper and wing mirrors, while flush rear door handles enhance aerodynamics.
Volkswagen has dimensioned the ID Polo at 4,053 mm long, 1,816 mm wide, and 1,530 mm high, with a 2,600 mm wheelbase. A sportier ID Polo GTI variant is also shown, distinguished by a honeycomb grille and GTI badging.
The cabin integrates a 10.25-inch digital driver's display and a 13-inch touchscreen. Volkswagen emphasizes user-friendly physical controls, including buttons for essential functions and a rotary dial for media, alongside steering wheel controls.
Built on the MEB+ platform, the ID Polo will offer front-wheel drive and two battery options: 38kWh and 56kWh. The larger battery is anticipated to deliver up to 451km of range and 435 litres of boot space. DC fast charging capability will reach up to 125kW, with the GTI model producing 226hp.
