Vodafone Offers Full Fibre Speeds via 5G
12 May
Summary
- Vodafone introduces 5G broadband offering full fibre-like speeds.
- Service expansion benefits 3.7 million additional UK homes.
- Flexible one-month rolling contract option is available.

Vodafone is now providing home broadband with speeds comparable to full fibre, utilizing its 5G network. This expansion makes high-speed internet accessible to an additional 3.7 million homes across the UK.
The service is designed for individuals in short-term accommodation or areas lacking full fibre infrastructure. A key advantage is the availability of a one-month rolling contract, offering flexibility for renters and students, a contrast to Vodafone's existing full fibre offerings which require longer commitments.
The new Vodafone 5G Power Hub router supports Wi-Fi 6 and can be self-installed without an engineer visit or landline. It promises speeds up to 150Mbps, roughly three times faster than typical part-fibre connections. Vodafone also plans to release an outdoor 5G hub for improved signal strength.
This move follows Three's earlier introduction of 5G broadband in the UK, though Three's plan required a minimum 12-month contract. Vodafone's ability to expand its 5G footprint is attributed to its upcoming merger with Three, scheduled for June 2025.
Vodafone's 5G broadband is currently priced at £21 per month for a 50Mbps plan on a 24-month contract, or £30 per month for the rolling 30-day contract. The 150Mbps plan is available for £22 and £32 respectively.
